Briefing Section for AVS

QMN held a briefing section for the AVS on the 14th of April, 2012, about 50 volunteers from AVS have attended the event, to learn more about the mentorship program under Child Development Fund (CDF) project of the SAR government, and the Quality Mentorship Training Program opened by QMN to facilitate the project.

Not only Dr Charles C. Chan, the Director and chief program officer of QMN, Associate Professor of Department of Applied Social Sciences, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Mr Mark Leung, the program instructor, who host the briefing section, we have also invited four mentors to talk about their experiences as a mentor in group discussion section, they are retired policeman, top executive officer of an enterprise, working mom with two sons, and student of our training program; they also answer questions raised by the volunteers in an open section, to let them understand the real situation and responsibilty of being a mentor.

Many volunteers were impressed by the briefing section, and had positive feedback on being a mentor. We will follow up the response of the volunteers, refer the interested mentors to the operating NGOs which are recruiting mentors, and open new mentor training classes on demand.
