QMN Briefing Section at AVS Orientation
QMN delivered a briefing in AVS Orientation on 21th of April, inviting new volunteers to be a mentor and take our quality mentorship training program. In the briefing section, we broadcasted the theme song of QMN and our founder Dr Philemon Choi's message, moreover, our two mentors Stephanie and Robert, also share their mentoring experiences with new volunteers.
Stephanie is a university year two students. In the briefing section, she told the volunteers, when she was a secondary student, she met a tutor who not only her academic teacher, but also a life mentor who had great influence on her. Now she is a mentor of two secondary school students. which is her tutor wants her to be. She wishes she will be like her tutor, who has influence on others' lives, and has positive impact on her two mentees during their growing processes.
Robert reflects his relationship with his son when being a mentor. He believes that being a mentor let him know more about the young people, which would help him on getting along with his son, and build a more healthy father-son relationship.
Many volunteers have shown their interest on being a mentor, and ask questions enthusiastically. We hope to know more volunteers committed to serve the young people as a mentor in the near future.
